What Are Three Important Japanese Customs That Visitors to Japan Should Understand
There are many foreign visitors to Japan today, but some of them sometimes get confused because they don’t know Japanese customs. While there many customs that are helpful to know, there are three important customs that foreign visitors really should know, including how to take a bath, a way of putting things which is characteristic of Japanese, and how important punctuality is. Firstly, Japanese people like to have a bath and there are many hot spring baths or public baths in Japan, so all people can enjoy having a bath and relax in the bathtub. However, there are some manners to taking a bath. For example, when people want to soak in the bathtub, they don’t soak in it without first taking a shower. Because hot spring baths (or public baths) are a public space, many people soak in it together. Therefore, they have to behave so as not to cause trouble for the people around them. This is not only at hot spring baths or public baths, but at home. Secondly, Japanese people often use a roundabout expression and speak with reserve. This is because they don’t like to say everything directly and also it is said that a humble attitude is important. Therefore, foreign visitors should behave in a modest way. Finally, most Japanese people are punctual. For instance, some of them aim to arrive ten minutes before for their appointments. Furthermore, even trains or buses arrive on time. Thus it is important for visitors to be on time. In conclusion, to know these Japanese customs are very important to enjoy their time in Japan without getting confused.

Why do people lie?
There are two reasons why people lie. Firstly, to tell a lie gains us personal power. If unfortunate things happen, we can defend ourselves. For example, when we make some mistakes, we can manage to smooth things over for the moment by telling a lie. We don’t have to be embarrassed. Furthermore, it makes ourselves look as we may be a firm person, even if we don't have confidence on our own ability. Lies help us to get confidence. In addition, if we tell a lie, we will make a effort to make the lie come true, so sometimes a lie helps us to develop ourselves. Secondly,we often tell a lie for other people. When something in convenient happens to friends (or family), we tell a lie so as not to hurt them because we don’t want them to feel sad. In addition, lies can not only defend other people, but also encourage them. When our friends worry about something, lies can give encouragement to our friends. To tell a lie is sometimes improves relationships with other people. From these things, we realize that to tell a lie is one of the important skills people use to protect important things for themselves.

Why should high school students participate in club activities?
Firstly, to participate in club activities makes high school students tough and builds up their bodies.For example, when I was a high school student, I joined the badminton club and was in training there. It made me healthy, and I become sensitive to my own health. Furthermore, students become more active, even if they aren't in a sports club. Secondly, club activity helps students individual psychological development. When they achieve something, for example win a game ,or play a difficult piece well,they can get a great sense of accomplishment. In addition,
because of these experiences, students become more mentally strong and patient. Finally, students learn social development in club activities. Students are able to have a many personal relationships without distinction of age. Therefore they get a spirit of coorperation show good teamwork. From these things, a sense of responsibility develops between them. Therefore it's clear that club activities support students physical development, individual psychological development, and social development.
